It's Tuesday at 2:00pm! (PST Time: I live and work from Southern California)
Greetings to you!
Each week I send out a short leadership blog that's called "Tuesday at 2:00pm". The purpose of this is simply to provide a brief thought on leadership that you can read and think about in just a few minutes. I send it out every week at 2:00pm (PST) and encourage you to make an appointment with yourself to pause and think about the thing I'm writing about.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE:
"Every moment is a fresh beginning." T.S. Eliot
What does this stir up? Either write me HERE or comment at the end of the blog post HERE.
A LITTLE BIT DEEPER:
It's August and this month I'm going to dive into the topic of REGRET. I don't know what the word REGRET triggers in you, but I want to drag you along with me this month by looking at some quotes on regret, sharing some resources, and just thinking about what that means in our lives.
Remember, you can always go back to see past posts and more positive themes that we've addressed on the website HERE.
But journey with me....
T.S. Eliot reminds us here of the simple truth, that "every moment is a fresh beginning." Aren't you glad for that?
Aren't you glad that we don't have to relive all of our mistakes?
Aren't you glad that we can start fresh?
Aren't you glad that sometimes we get to do things again and do them better?
Aren't you glad that we aren't defined by our past, but that we have the opportunity to redefine ourselves over and over again, learning as we grow, becoming more and more like the person God has created us and called us to be?
Aren't you glad?
We've been talking about REGRET this past month, and this will be the last post on this, and it's simply a reminder that you don't have to live being stuck in regret.
I recently listened to a podcast on Walt Disney and all of the struggles he had before he launch Disneyland, which turned out to be a major success, both here in Southern California and around the world.
There were many times that he could have quit, times where he put everything on the line, and to his story, he was able to see his dream become a reality.
There are many others who struggled over and over again, making mistake after mistake, wanting to quit, yet they kept going until something clicked.
I think the overarching reminder from this conversation with regret is to simply keep moving, don't let things paralyze you, realized that everyone makes mistakes and everyone struggles at one point or another.
You are not alone.
Today, what does it feel like to start fresh, to have a new beginning without looking back and comparing everything to what happened in your past?
DEEPER STILL:
Yes, I'm a golf nerd. I like to play once in a while, but I also like to watch and track pro golf.
This weekend was the PGA Tour Championship and while I was rooting for some of the golfers I follow and enjoy, I'm also pretty excited to see Tommy Fleetwood, an English golfer who has played for years on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, but he's never won a PGA event. He's been close, he's been leading, but he's never won, and this past week he finally wins his first, and it's the TOUR Championship, a $10 Million Dollar prize that marks the end of his PGA drought.
It's that story we all long to experience.... hard work over time leads to success or victory, and then we celebrate.
What we usually forget about is the time, work, effort, failure, despair and "new beginnings" that come with that success.
I was reminded this past week in church that sometimes we miss out on really understand who God is because we don't like His timing and we don't like our circumstances.
We want a quick fix. We want to win the PGA Tour the first time we play. We want the job with the title without the years of effort to get there. We want to be winning always instead of learning from our mistakes, leading through our failures and growing and learning along the way.
We were reminded from our Pastor that God has His own plan and His own timeframe, and our job is to simply trust Him.
No Regrets.
Take a deep breath and take another step forward. Learn from your past, don't get stuck in regret or guilt. Learn, grow and keep moving towards what He is calling you into!
